David Thoma, D.O.

Dr. Thoma is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and attended Florida State University for his undergraduate degree in Biology and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA for medical school.

While in college, he was a member of the Florida Army National Guard (Infantry) and he attended the Army Airborne School and was a leader of the Ranger Challenge Team.

Dr. Thoma is committed to the highest quality of care for all patients he is privileged to care for, treating each one as he would want his family members to be treated.  He enjoys participating in sports in his leisure time, in particular snow skiing in the winter.

He has a passion for holistic and functional medicine which led to his decision to pursue osteopathic medicine.  He is particularly interested in the concept of preventive medicine in young athletes.  Dr. Thoma recently completed the Command General Staff College (CGSC) and graduated with honors.  He has received numerous awards during his tenure in the Army including the Meritorious Service Medal (x3) and obtained the rank of Lieutenant colonel.  He continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with his amazing wife Rina and two wonderful daughters.

  • Tour in Seoul, South Korea serving as a Musculoskeletal radiologist and Battalion surgeon for the 8th Army

Most recently, Dr. Thoma served as the assistant program director of the radiology residency program at Tripler Army Medical Center and as the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Medical Director (MRMD) for the Army Pacific Theatre.

Dr. Thoma holds privileges at Baptist, West Florida, Monroe County, and D.W. McMillian Memorial Hospitals.
