Christopher J. Dorvault, M.D.

Dr. Dorvault grew up in South Florida but moved to Indiana to attend the University of Notre Dame when he was 17.  While at the University of Notre Dame he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and received the Lawrence H. Baldinger outstanding pre-professional student award.  He then made a move to New Orleans, Louisiana to complete his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine.   While at Tulane he was a junior year inductee into and was elected president of the AOA medical honor society.  Dr. Dorvault went on to Pennsylvania to complete his radiology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he was named chief resident of radiology. He followed that with a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Dorvault became board certified with the American Board of Radiology in 1998.

Dr. Dorvault served four years with the United States Air Force, at Maxwell Air Force base in Montgomery, Alabama. Upon entering the USAF he was named Top Graduate of the Commissioned Officer Training School. While serving on active duty Dr Dorvault advanced to the rank of Major, was chief of Radiology and  received  an Air Force commendation  medal. He has received the First Humanitarian award from West Florida Hospital, and he has been recognized by Baptist Hospital as an Outstanding Physician. Dr. Dorvault is currently Chief of staff at West Florida Hospital.

Dr. Dorvault’s favorite aspect of radiology is using his knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the physics of imaging to diagnose patients, and determine the cause of their symptoms. Dr. Dorvault chose a specialization in musculoskeletal, because of his interest of sports and sport related injuries. He is excited to be a part of the diagnosis and care of athletes of all levels from professionals to weekend warriors.

Dr. Dorvault and his wife Christine, have lived here in Pensacola for the last 12 years. They have two wonderful children. He has been with the Acumen team since 2008.
